UPDATE: AS OF MID 2022 I HAVE BEEN RELEASED
(There is still plenty of valuable material on this site-please look around)
Thank you for visiting this site. As you read this, I am confined to a federal prison that is designed to limit my interactions with folks on the “outside,” so I greatly appreciate you poking around here. I suggest you watch this short video I made if you want to put a voice to these words and a face to my story. It was recorded shortly after receiving my nearly 5 year sentence for a marijuana crime in 2019. It will give you an idea of what kind of person I am and the attitude I am trying my best to maintain as I move through my incarceration.
Also throughout this site you will find writings of mine from prison. I want to share stories about life in prison, some funny, some sad. I’ll share openly about some personal struggles I face, some very difficult and scary, but usually rewarding in the end. I will answer questions from folks just like you on the “outside” to help you better understand life on the “inside.” I’ll share some interests as well as the plans, goals, and desires I am forming as I prepare for life after prison. I’ll offer you an honest and open glimpse into the thoughts and feelings of a man who descended into the dark depths of himself and is now on a return journey, armed with all he learned along the way. I will also share some of the funny and absurd stories you can’t help but encounter while here in prison. I am dedicated to embracing this journey and sharing it with you every step of the way, in all its sorrow and joy, darkness and triumph. Such an honest route is not always easy to take, but I think it is what many of us need to live a more authentic life. We need to visit that place within ourselves where it is the most difficult to look, the place that frightens us most and to talk about it honestly. Because it is there, in that intense place, where we learn who we truly are. Then upon our return from that place, we can also learn who we’re truly capable of becoming as well.
Thanks for following me on this journey and please feel free to reach out if you have something similar to share, a question to ask, or just want to say hello.
